THIS COMPETITION IS ONLY OPEN TO FULL TIME LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

 
Date: Saturday - July 23, 2005
Walk Thru: 0730  hrs (All participants must attend)
Time: 8:00 a.m.
SiteThe University of Connecticut - West Campus

Directions:   Route I-84 East or West Exit #68.  Take Route 195 South to Route 44 West to the UConn West Campus, which is across from Bergin Correctional Institution.

            
 
INFORMATION AND REGULATIONS
Required Equipment:
1.  Long Pants and Boots
2.  Service Handgun, Holster & Belt
     (for use at the live fire range)
3.  K-9 and Leash
4.  Change of Clothes (recommended)

Entry:  Entry Fee is $25.00 and is limited to the first 30  teams.  Make checks payable to: CT Police K-9 Olympics 

Awards:  Awards will be given out to the top three teams overall and also to the top team in the following categories:
 
·        Obedience
·        Tactical Range
·        Criminal Apprehension
·        Obstacles
·        Most Experienced Handler
·        Most Experienced K-9
  

      .40 caliber handguns and ammunition will be provided.

Anyone using duty weapons other than a .40 caliber will have to provide their own handgun and ammunition.

      No handguns will be allowed on the filed; only at the live fire range

      No prong type collars, no electric collars or dummy collars will be allowed in any area of the competition
